“HE Talks” movie premiere! It is the culmination of a year's worth of work. Through funding from the Indiana Department of Health Office of Minority Health 'Together We Will grant" we were able to train barber students as community health workers and pay them to coordinate barbershop talks surrounding public health issues like mental health promotion, suicide prevention, substance use prevention, community violence, and risky sexual behavior. We had a production team that captured the conversations and edited these conversations into the "HE Talks" movie exploring behaviors and attitudes of males of color as it relates to these public health challenges.
